mnmlist: Immigration, Integration and Identity: Has multiculturalism failed and how should the Left respond?

Recent years have seen a shift to the right in public attitudes to immigration. Nottinghamshire Fabian Society invites you to a public meeting to discuss whether multiculturalism has failed and how the Left should respond to a new politics of identity. Our guest speakers are:

Seema Malhotra, Labour & Co-operative MP for Feltham & Heston. She set up the Fabian Women’s Network and is a former Chair of the Fabians;


Anthony Painter,  political commentator and researcher. He wrote ‘The Politics of Perpetual Renewal’ (Demos, 2010) that outlined the political impact of changing UK demographics and is a co-author of Searchlight’s Fear and Hope survey.
